RSVP to confirm bus to Toronto rally!
As many of you know – we are going into negotiations both provincially and locally early in 2025. If you were able to attend the November 6 proposal setting meeting you will know the things that ONA is taking to the table for central bargaining. If not – these are just a few of the things:
Nurse to patient ratios
Improvements to wages, benefits and premiums
Centralized NP Wage Grid & New language to allow time for NP’s to focus on non-clinical care activities (80% clinical; 20% non-clinical)
NP Workload Form & Improvements to the RN Workload Form
Clarity of the Mentorship Language
Improvements to Bereavement Language
Increased premiums for Agency usage
That is a snippet. The proposal setting meeting was 3 hours in length and our Provincial Negotiations Team went through the proposals/amendments and explained the rationale for every decision. Trust me when I say –Â this is a contract worth fighting for!!!
So, this is where you come in, my fellow ONA members. We need to make it abundantly clear to the OHA, mediators, and potentially an arbitrator that they are not just bargaining with a handful of people in a meeting room at The Hilton. They need to know they are bargaining with 68000 of us – a large portion being hospital nurses!! THAT is our power – our individual presence & voice collectively joined with the voices and presence of other ONA members! United to WIN!
Â
I am looking into renting a bus to attend the rally that will be occurring on January 29, 2025 from 1200-1330 in Toronto. In order to do this I will need to confirm the headcount prior to booking to know how many people to expect. I have created an Eventbrite link for you to indicate that you can attend. Once I have more details re: pickup/dropoff location and time confirmed I will reach out to those who have indicated they can attend to ensure they still can. I have capped it to 50 tickets – if you want to attend but there are no tickets available please e-mail me and I will add you to a waitlist.
If you have any questions or concerns – don’t hesitate to reach out to me!
See you on January 29!
